“BREATHE IN THE COLOR BLUE”
Curtis Memorial Library, November 2-29, 2024
Breathe in the color BLUE. In Japan the word for Blue or Indigo is “Ai” which also means “LOVE”. So, breathe in the love that the color of the sky and ocean possess and the blue of my shibori pieces.
Below is a visitors comment.
I had the great pleasure of attending Kathy Goddu’s presentation on her Shibori and other techniques in November. The Curtis library was the perfect setting for this presentation: it felt like an art museum; Kathy’s exquisite pieces were hung so professionally and the minute we walked in the room we felt the beautiful energy of the work. The session was so well planned, with time for guests to view the work and discuss with other attendees (it was packed!). The presentation was professionally done and so enjoyable. Kathy demonstrates such painstaking work but with such a relaxed and playful tone and we got to feel and see the samples up close. The tools and techniques were amazing. Kathy is a powerful teacher of this unusual art form. My wife and I are very grateful for her beautiful pieces in my own home. They open and soothe our hearts at the same time.
